PROGRAMS
G Road creates and implements creative and engaging programs for students with a focus on arts, athletics, and academics. Our approach is centered on equity both in and through our programs. We are dedicated to being a safe and welcoming space for neurodivergent students, and recognize that many of our participants have historically been denied access to many of the activities listed below. We also recognize that this experience can open doors for students, unlocking passions and interests and helping our students form goals for their future.

Gardening and sustainability
Our signature program encourages students to apply gardening techniques as we care for our G Road garden. Through hands-on experience, we promote inquiry, observation, and critical thinking skills. Additionally, students learn about life science and make connections to where their food comes from and how it can be sustainably grown.
MEDIA ARTS
Media Arts has transformed to incorporate filming, editing, production, and new digital media. Students get first hand experience creating digital content and using industry current technology to produce and edit their ideas, while learning marketing concepts and engaging in a creative process from start to finish.
STEM
G Road has robust STEM offerings that introduce all program participants to the scientific inquiry process. Our participants have fun while learning the importance of experimenting and testing as they tackle engaging science projects and challenges. G Road has expanded its STEM offerings to include robotics, where students will compete in competitions using skills in engineering and computer science. All STEM lessons utilize Next Generation Science Standards!
Tutoring
The G Road approach to tutoring looks and feels different from normal tutoring. Students are encouraged to track their progress and work towards mastery of skills that they are struggling with. In addition, program staff work to help students understand their unique talents and intelligences. Lastly, we work on building high executive functioning skills to ensure students that they are equipped to be the best students they can be.
ROADMAPPING
Our core mission is to support young people on their path to adulthood. Roadmapping is a program that truly works to develop students into better citizens of the world. This course looks to help students develop skills that will make them productive human beings. In addition to weekly Circle Talks to build community and connection, students will learn financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and about other healthy habits to set them up for success. Partners also support this programming with business owners and mindset coaches coming to teach participants about the real world.
CULINARY CLUB
We learn about different cultures through food. By creating dishes from different cuisines, students learn about different countries and communities in an authentic way. Students take a trip around the world and experience different foods while broadening their horizons. In addition, students gain real world skills learning about kitchen safety, nutrition, numeracy skills, and science.
